Before black metal, doom rock, grunge, or death metal were even named as a genre, in the post heavy metal and psychedelic rock era, my brother formed a power trio with likeminded musicians and created hard and heavy instrumental rock music that spoke to their sensibilities as musicians in 1982. This is the only surviving cassette recording of their basement jams on Union street in Janesville, Wisconsin that he entrusted to me in 2005 where he shredded on the guitar at his peak as an arranger and composer. TPR’s compositions are now digitally immortalized here as a living legacy of the unsung heroes in the underground that went unrecognized by the music industry yet laid the foundation for the future of rock music. Their influence shall remain digitized in time.

As his brother, and without song titles to go on and no information as to what they were called, I took the liberty of naming them myself based on his sensibilities. He claimed I was there during the recording session and hit pause on the recorder for them when I was 8 or 9 years old. I have a vague recollection of it. This tape has sat in my archives for almost 15 years. Side A was a compilation of popular rock songs, so I rewound the tape upon receiving it and shelved it thinking my brother lied to me.
