about

These tracks represent a collaborative trust brought together through MySpace in 2007. Jason Hill, BKA International Criminal, is a multitalented musician and prolific artist, residing in Spain. I first reached out to him for a track that would ultimately become “The Shift” while living in Northwest Florida, which we both shared widely and can be found on The Return of the Max album here (18). From 2007-2011, he sent a barrage of tracks that would be chosen over the years and released on projects by Apaso, Mexican Stepgrandfather, Itzli y Chimalli, The Mr. Friendly Project, Wolfman Max, B-Hop, Mr. Ogyny, and Tha Midax here in the states, while he continued to release material across the Atlantic. His name is flipped here on the other side of the globe.

Although we have never physically met, and have maintained a digital connection for 13 years, my musical brother has always been there, and has never once spoken ill about finished works, always excited to hear what became of his sonic visions with vocals added. We found we shared a lot of similarities as genre-hopping creative people, and that kept us going. The tracks here were almost lost on a destroyed hard drive in 2010, but through an old MS-DOS program I was able to painstakingly retrieve them one at a time. Here is my ode to my musical brother from Spain. Dedicated to Jason Hill… I am forever grateful for your spirit, your diverse musical knowledge, and your passion to your craft. Salud!

Midax Musik San Antonio, Texas

Established in 2001 as a hobby label to release cassettes of poetry and random noises. Label flounder Max Edman has wasted his life on music & wack artists that never sold. After decades of digital marketing and putting in MAD work, he no longer gives a fuck and quits! He made a little over $1100 in 13 years over 102 albums on this platform. You do the math, if you even stagger upon this page. ... more
